Privacy policy
What we collect, why we collect it, and the choices you have — across podcast analytics, billing, and guest release agreements.
Last updated: July 4, 2026
1. Who we are
BuzzyPod (“we,” “us,” or “our”) is a podcast analytics and operations platform operated by BuzzyPod LLC, a South Carolina limited liability company. We provide download analytics for your show, team collaboration tools, and electronic guest release agreements. Our website is buzzypod.com and the app runs at app.buzzypod.com. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, and the choices you have. It applies to account holders, their team members, and guests who sign release agreements through BuzzyPod.
2. Information we collect
Account information. When you create an account we collect your email address and a password. Authentication is handled by Firebase Authentication, and we never store your password in readable form. You can also add a display name and profile photo.
Team information. Your team’s name and image, and each member’s name, email address, and role. When you invite someone to your team, we collect their email address (and optionally their name) to deliver the invitation.
Podcast data. The RSS feed you connect and its public show and episode metadata. Listener analytics come from OP3 (the Open Podcast Prefix Project) and Podcast Index, and are stored only as aggregate counts — downloads by country, region, device, and listening app. We do not collect or store the identity of individual listeners.
Billing information. Payments are processed by Stripe. Your card details and billing address are entered on Stripe’s hosted checkout and billing pages and never touch our servers. We store only your Stripe customer and subscription identifiers, your plan, and your subscription status.
Guest release agreements. When a release agreement is created and signed, we collect the names, email addresses, and typed signatures of the host and the guest, along with the agreement details (podcast name, producer name, and governing law). To keep signed agreements legally valid under the U.S. E-SIGN Act, we also record a tamper-evident audit trail for each signing event, including the signer’s IP address, browser user-agent, and timestamps. Signed agreement PDFs and audit-trail PDFs are stored securely in our cloud storage. This applies to guests even if they never create a BuzzyPod account.
Support and feedback. Messages you send through our in-app support chat or feedback form, together with your name and email so we can respond.
Usage data. We use Google Analytics for Firebase to understand how the app is used — pages visited, features used, and device and browser information — associated with your account.
3. How we use your information
Provide and operate the platform: analytics dashboards, teams, guest release agreements, and billing
Send transactional email through Loops, such as team invitations, guest signing links, copies of signed agreements, and password resets
Send occasional product updates to account holders
Respond to support requests and feedback
Protect the platform against abuse and automated traffic using Firebase App Check with reCAPTCHA Enterprise
Improve the product using aggregated usage insights
4. Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with the service providers that run parts of the platform:
Google (Firebase and Google Cloud) — authentication, database, file storage, analytics, and reCAPTCHA security
Stripe — subscription billing and payment processing
Loops — transactional and product email
Chatwoot — in-app support chat
OP3 and Podcast Index — we retrieve your podcast’s aggregate analytics and public metadata from these services
OpenFreeMap — your browser loads map tiles from this service to render the analytics geography map
We may also disclose information when required by law, and signed release agreements are shared with the parties who signed them.
5. If you sign as a guest
When a podcaster invites you to sign a release agreement, we process your name, email address, typed signature, IP address, browser details, and signing timestamps to create a legally valid electronic signature record. Both you and the podcast team receive a copy of the signed agreement. We retain these records because they are legal documents. If you have questions about an agreement you signed, contact the podcast that sent it, or email us.
6. Data retention and deletion
We keep your information for as long as your account is active. Signed release agreements and their audit trails are retained as legal records for the parties involved. To request deletion of your account and associated personal data, email us at support@buzzypod.com and we will process your request.
7. Security
Data is encrypted in transit, access is restricted by per-user and per-team security rules, and requests to our backend are verified with Firebase App Check. Signed agreements are protected with cryptographic hash chains so any tampering can be detected. No system is completely secure, but we continuously work to protect your information.
8. Your rights
You can update your name, photo, and password in Settings at any time. For access, correction, export, or deletion of your personal data — including data we hold about you as a guest signer — email us and we will respond promptly.
9. Children
BuzzyPod is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post changes on this page and update the date above. If a change is significant, we will notify account holders by email.
